Range Combat Academy Derby

We are a martial arts academy based in Derby city centre. We teach Bruce Lee's jeet kune do concepts, global kickboxing and fulkrum ryu jujutsu.

Each martial art will help you get fit, lose weight, gain confidence and learn new skills in a fun, safe environment. There is also the chance to learn about the fascinating history of the arts, how they were hundreds of years ago, and how they have evolved.

We are the only academy in derby to be offering Bruce Lee's jeet kune do concepts. JKD, literally meaning the way of the intercepting fist, was founded by Bruce in 1967. It not only advocates the combination of different styles, it can also change many aspects that it adopts to suit the practitioner. The five areas covered are : punching, kicking, trapping, grappling and weapons, including improvised weapons.

Global kickboxing is a blend of striking from around the world. Techniques are taken from arts such as Muay Thai, savate, wing chun, Chinese boxing, American and Filipino boxing to name a few. These are fused together to create a well rounded system, excellent for self defence or competitions.

Fulkrum ryu jujutsu is a grappling art using a vast array of concepts found in Japan, Brazil, and europe. These also include military concepts i.e. knife, gun and baton defence. Frj covers close quarter combat such as clinch work, escapes from grabs, and ground defence all with and without a gi ( martial arts suit ).

Also available is personal tuition and nutrition and diet advice to compliment your training.
